Mossman Years 7s do well in art competition
TWO year 7 students from Mossman State School came first and runner-up in the region’s EATSIPS art competition.
The art competition’s aim was to highlight Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art in Far North Queensland and recognise the diversities of cultures, histories, languages and beliefs throughout the state.
Jye Hauser and Vashnee Williams won shopping vouchers for Cairns Central Shopping Centre.
Jye’s design will become the ‘‘face’’ or branding of EATSIPS in FNQ and feature on posters, advertising and presentations.
In addition, powerpoint images, titles and meaning of artwork, together with student profiles will be showcased at the Principals and Parents Conference.
A presentation will be held at the School parade next Wednesday October 23 to celebrate the students’ achievements.
