Moss­man Years 7s do well in art com­pe­ti­tion

TWO year 7 stu­dents from Moss­man State School came first and run­ner-up in the re­gion’s EATSIPS art com­pe­ti­tion.

The art com­pe­ti­tion’s aim was to high­light Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Is­lan­der art in Far North Queens­land and recog­nise the di­ver­si­ties of cul­tures, his­to­ries, lan­guages and be­liefs through­out the state.

Jye Hauser and Vash­nee Wil­liams won shop­ping vouch­ers for Cairns Cen­tral Shop­ping Cen­tre.

Jye’s de­sign will be­come the ‘‘face’’ or brand­ing of EATSIPS in FNQ and fea­ture on posters, ad­ver­tis­ing and pre­sen­ta­tions.

In ad­di­tion, pow­erpoint im­ages, ti­tles and mean­ing of art­work, to­gether with stu­dent pro­files will be show­cased at the Prin­ci­pals and Par­ents Con­fer­ence.

A pre­sen­ta­tion will be held at the School pa­rade next Wed­nes­day Oc­to­ber 23 to cel­e­brate the stu­dents’ achieve­ments.
