Lit­tle ath­let­ics pre­sen­ta­tion

ON Sun­day the 13th Oc­to­ber, Dou­glas Ath­let­ics cel­e­brated the achieve­ments of its ath­letes at its end of year pre­sen­ta­tion, at Plan­ta­tion Re­sort.

In the Un­der 6 age group, Joel Hat­field re­ceived a Gold Star medal­lion for 15 at­ten­dances and Rhett Hawk­ing re­ceived a tro­phy for his 20 at­ten­dances.

For the Un­der 7 - Un­der 17 age groups, bronze medal­lions for 10 per­sonal bests (pbs) were awarded to Bran­don Fis­cher and An­zac Gam­ble.

Sil­ver medal­lions for 20 pbs were re­ceived by Ryan Hawk­ing, Trin­ity Beitzel, Fletcher Beitzel, Sa­muel Sav­age, Charli Os­borne, Tyson Os­borne, Lahni Hawk­ing, Taj Dol­phin, Colby Watkinson, Cas­san­dra Davenport, Jack Hat­field, Ethan Crees and Ta­heega Sav­age.

Wy­att Lau­ri­gan, Am­ber Hawk­ing, Krys­tal Schulz, Melissa Cal­lan­der, Adriel Frizelle and Jas­mine Blain re­ceived gold medal­lions for 30 pbs. Emily Cal­lan­der was awarded a tro­phy for 40 per­sonal bests.

The con­test for the ma­jor awards was fierce with the last Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon com­pe­ti­tion de­cid­ing the win­ners. The Coast­line Graphic & Copy Cen­tre Club Cham­pion was won by Emily Cal­lan­der.

There was only 1 point sep­a­rat­ing the Ju­nior Cham­pion & Run­ner up, with Melissa Cal­lan­der win­ning the Food­works Ju­nior Cham­pion and Adriel Frizelle the run­ner up.

The 2013 LJ Hooker Se­nior Cham­pion was won by Am­ber Hawk­ing and the run­ner up was Jas­mine Blain.

53 ath­letes re­ceived tro­phies in recog­ni­tion for at­tend­ing for 70% or more of the sea­son com­pe­ti­tion days. With Melissa Cal­lan­der, Lahni Hawk­ing & Adriel Frizelle achiev­ing 100% at­ten­dance for the sea­son.
