FOR keen scuba divers a whole new experience has hit the waters of the region.

Blue Dive Port Douglas is now offering overnight scuba diving adventures on the Great Barrier Reef.

These mini-dive live-aboards, great for thrillseeking divers, will include night and sunrise dives, giving an opportunity to see the reefs like never before.

The boat, Blue Dive- Reef Connections, comfortably sleeps eight and there will be a qualified chef onboard alongside the skipper Brendon. One of the experienced Blue Dive team will guide the dive trips.

The reef takes on a whole new complexion at night with day creatures trying to find safe resting places and nocturnal predators coming out of their daytime resting holes to search for food – a shift change that is truly fascinating to watch.

Co-owner Mark Fraenkel said he is excited about the new operations.
