4G on tap for Craiglie
MORE residents throughout Port Douglas can now access 4G services, with residents in Craiglie added to the mobile coverage.
Telstra is upgrading 200 regional towns and holiday hotspots with 4G coverage by the end of 2013 and Port Douglas is part of this program.
The service is already available in other parts of Port Douglas.
Telstra’s 4G services makes streaming movies, downloading music and internet browsing much quicker when on the go, with typical downloads speeds of between 2-50 megabits per second.
Telstra’s latest 4G expansion involving Craiglie is planned to take Telstra’s 4G coverage to 85 per cent of the population by Christmas this year, up from 66 per cent at the end of June.
Telstra already upgraded more than 2000 base stations and plan to upgrade another 1500 base stations.
