Girls Night In raises cash for Can­cer Coun­cil

A FLOCK of women con­verged on Ra­mada Port Dou­glas on Sun­day night for a Girls Night In party, to raise money for the Can­cer Coun­cil. With pink cham­pagne, pink cup cakes and smiles all around, it was one to­tally girly night in, rais­ing $1160. The event was spon­sored by Ra­mada Re­sort and or­gan­ised by Jes­sica Quag­gin and Chantelle Cooper af­ter they heard what a great way it was to raise money for a wor­thy cause. Ms Quag­gin said over­all it was a fun and suc­cess­ful event with around 20 peo­ple in at­ten­dance. ‘‘ Breast and gy­ne­co­log­i­cal can­cer ef­fects so many peo­ple and we wanted to do our part to help fight against it,’’ she said. ‘‘Work­ing for Wyn­d­ham, we are en­cour­aged to take part in fundrais­ers and com­mu­nity ori­en­tated events. ‘‘That evening we in­vited lo­cal girls to come along to our Girls Night In. For $30 they re­ceived a glass of pink cham­pagne, gift bag, nib­bles and a great evening with the girls.’’
