Day of the Dead at the Cocina
HALLOWEEN was alive and well in Port Douglas last week with just a slight twist. Tortillas Cocina Mexicana celebrated ‘‘Day of The Dead’’ – a Mexican holiday that reunites the dead with their friends and relatives on this day each year.
A special menu was created by the Tortillas team using dishes commonly eaten in Mexico at this time of year.
The waitstaff were made up as the living dead and kids were treated to dishes such as Dead Man’s Fingers, Crispy Zombie Flakes and ice cream with jellied eyeballs. The night was a great success and will be scheduled in for the restaurant’s annual calendar of events in 2014.
