Drinking, misbehaving and possession
TWO people were observed by an off-duty police sergeant as they walked past the police station while consuming liquor in a public place and causing a disturbance. The incident occurred on November 9 around 3.30pm, when the off-duty sergeant noticed a group causing a disturbance in Bow Street, before walking past the police station.
When he addressed them on their behaviour he was verbally abused, and a short time later the off-duty sergeant, along with an on-duty officer located the 44-year-old Mossman man and 34-year-old Mossman woman resulting in notices to appear for consuming liquor in a public place, both to appear in court on November 27.
Police found the same man later that evening about 7pm allegedly misbehaving at the football grounds and a search found the man had 1gram of cannabis and a drug grinder. He was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and drug utensil, to appear in court on November 11.
