STUNNING botanical drawings will be on display, along with an abundance of other art forms at the Douglas Art Base’s End of Year Exhibition, kicking-off tomorrow night.

Fantastic sculptures, print making, paintings and drawings, still-life and ink work are just some of the art that will be on display for the first time, never having been exhibited before.

DAB member Carol Edelberg said the exhibition is an opportunity for everyone to catch a glimpse of the works they do at their studio.

‘‘This is an opportunity for people to come along and see what kind of work is being done at DAB and the first time to see what the new tutors have been doing with their students,’’ Ms Edelberg said.

‘‘DAB is a wonderful place for viewing artwork inside a beautiful historic building and this will be the last chance for people to come and view until half way through next year.

‘‘There are some pretty amazing sculptures, the few that I have seen have been quite outstanding.’’

The exhibition will be launched tomorrow night, November 29 from 6.30pm and will be a chance to mingle with the dignitaries of Douglas, with the new councillors all invited.

‘‘We have got everything, music, drinks and nibbles – we always have great good and it’s a very fun social night because a lot of other artists come along to see what’s being shown,’’ Ms Edelberg said.

‘‘The night is also an opportunity for people to meet the artists displaying their work and have a chat with the tutors who will be there too.

‘‘DAB is on its own now financially and we are trying to get as much support as possible from everyone.’’

The Douglas Arts Base End of Year Exhibition is launching tomorrow at 6.30pm and will be open Monday to Saturday 10am-2pm until December 12 at midday and can be located at the DAB, 11 Mill Street, Mossman.
