LOCAL judo champion Sebastian Temesi brought home the silver medal from the Oceania Judo Union Open in Samoa recently, but there is no rest for this ambitious fighter.

In a bid to keep his name in the running for the Commonwealth Games Australian squad next year, Sebastian has been competing all over the world scoring huge points along the way.

Next up for Sebastian is the Tokyo Grand Slam from November 29 to December 1 where he will be one of only five Australians competing at the event.

But Sebastian will not be the only local face at the event, Coral Coast Judo club chief i nstructor George Brendecke has been selected to be the official Australian team coach at the event.

Seven senior members of the Coral Coast judo club have travelled to Tokyo to cheer the Australians along and will also be undertaking a cultural tour of historically significant Judo sites.
