Year of the Shark
Seniors primed for great season
MOSSMAN Port Douglas Senior Sharks have exciting plans for the 2014 season with some exciting new additions and changes within the club that will provide not only an expanding wealth of football knowledge but a renewed sense of direction for the Sharkies.
David Grainer has come to the blue, black and white jersey to coach our A-Grade team. David started as an Under-19 for the Mossman Sharks and his exceptional talents on the field saw him play in the A-Grade team that year. Making a welcome return to the club David not only brings a new sense of hunger to succeed, but the knowledge and experience needed by the Sharks to focus on rebuilding the club. With the start of preseason training well and truly underway David believes signs are so far positive and the boys have approached the season with the attitude David believes is capable of producing a successful team. Focusing on ensuring the team is provided with a clear direction on the field is a key issue David faces this season, something the club is sure he will achieve.
Adding to the likes of our coaching team sees the introduction of Billy Segeyaro combining with Adam Fischer as the Under18s coach to foster the young talent and hopeful future stars of the Mossman Sharks. Along with the introduction of Jamaal Cannon to the coaching ranks where he will be utilising his long standing association with the club to take control of our Reserve Grade Team. The Mossman Port Douglas Sharks are also proud to announce a partnership with the Mt Garnet Eagles which will see both teams combine to field a C-Grade team in the CDRL competition.
The Mossman Senior Sharks would also like to thank all the sponsors for their on-going commitment and support of the club. Without their vital donations the club would not be able to continue.
If you want to get involved then start by coming to our first trial game of the season this weekend, February 8, against the Edmonton Storm. Training is on Tuesday and Thursday nights and we would especially like to see some C-Grade players making an appearance. Info: Jason Fasano on 0427 744 625.
