TRAINING for the senior Crocs 2014 season is at 5.15pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at Port Douglas Sports Complex.
Currently the Crocs have retained Brad Cooper as senior coach and appointed Adam Boone as assistant coach.
Adam, from WA, is in his third season at the club and has proven over that time to be a respected and talented person around the Croc Pit. Brad and his football operations manager Jim Buckley have been busy over the off season retaining a large quantity of 2013 players, while recruiting around 16 players from all over Australia.
This will in turn put presure on a few locals who struggle to fully commit each year.
The Crocs have retained their major sponsors Rattle N Hum, Paddy’s Irish Bar and Grill, Barrier Reef Tavern and Ramada Resort.
President Andy Smith said all is underway for the first hitout in the 4xxx cup in March.
‘‘The majority of sponsors have all stayed on board with several new inclusions for 2014,’’ he said.
‘‘The Crocs’ policy of only recruiting players with good small town ethics and respect for the town is paying off. We have nothing but praise from all the drinking establishments.
‘‘This year we intend to increase our Ramada 200 club membership, which is a coterie group who hold luncheons at each home game. People wishing to meet people and have some fun can join for $250 and receive nine smorgasboard luncheons and drinks at home games and a 200 club T-shirt, free entrance to all home games.’’
