Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - JOIN A CLUB -

FOR the young basketballers in the region, training starts up again this week at the Port Douglas Basketball Club.

This year is seeing a change up on training times. The 6-10 year olds will now train on a Saturday morning and the club hope to introduce the national OzHoops program, a national kids basketball program aimed at fun and fitness while learning how to play.

The first sign-on day for this age group is Saturday, February 8, at 9am.

The 11-14 year olds will continue to train on Wednesday afternoons from 4pm with their first sign-on day taking place yesterday. Not to worry if you missed it, the club will run the sign-on sessions for another couple of weeks yet.

All boys and girls between these ages are welcome to attend and have a go, keep fit and have fun. In an attempt to kick start the older players’ careers and give them valuable skills, the committee plan to enter Douglas Heat squads into the Mulgrave competition on Fridays.
