Martial self defence
IF YOU would like to improve flexibility, coordination, concentration, health and fitness, effective communication, compassion for our fellow human beings, and selfesteem, then consider aikido.
Aikido Ki is a selfdefence martial art with a focus on physical and mental techniques. If you dislike violence but would like to have an effective self- defence capability, enjoy the flexibility of tai chi and fitness training or love other martial arts or contact sports but would like to reduce the impact of those activities on your body, then aikido may be for you. Chief instructor Roby Kessler said it is not a fighting art. ‘‘It enables you to defend yourself without fighting,’’ he said. The Japanese martial art focuses on Ki development, combining martial studies with an emphasis on the ability to relax the mind and body even under stress. It’s perfect for children and adults alike.’’
