REIQ Cairns zone chair appointed
THE Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has re-appointed Greg Clyde-Smith as its Cairns zone chair. Mr Clyde-Smith began his second consecutive two-year appointment last week.
Mr Clyde-Smith has more than 40 years’ experience in the real estate profession, including as a stock and station agent in NSW, a commercial leasing agent on the Gold Coast in the 1980s, and in commercial and residential sales, project marketing and as a auctioneer in Cairns since establishing his own agency in 1991. His agency won the REIQ Cairns Agency of the Year award three times.
’’This year is shaping up to be a great one for our local market,’’ Mr Clyde-Smith said.
’’The market has been improving since last year and we are anticipating strengthening sales activity as well as some sustainable price growth which is great news.
’’I am honoured to be appointed as an REIQ zone chair during a period which will also see significant changes to our industry with new legislation coming into effect this year.’’
The REIQ has 17 zones across the State. Zone chairs assist communication between zone members and the REIQ board of directors, inform the board of real estate issues affecting zone members and act as the REIQ media spokesperson for market commentary in their zone.
