PO­LICE seized a ve­hi­cle’s reg­is­tra­tion plates for 48 hours, af­ter they charged a man for the sec­ond time with driv­ing an un­reg­is­tered unin­sured ve­hi­cle. The 32-year-old Port Dou­glas man was stopped on Cap­tain Cook High­way near Kil­laloe around 8.45pm on Fe­bru­ary 16 and charged the man to ap­pear in the Moss­man Mag­is­trate’s court on March 12. Un­der the law, po­lice can seize num­ber plates for 48 hours, seven days and even three months im­pound­ment for re­peat of­fences.
