MOSS­MAN Golf Club’s ‘‘ In­tro­duc­tion to golf for Ladies’’ pro­gram is held on Mon­days at 4pm. De­tails from Julie Hooker 0413 394 111.

We are pleased to re­port that B i l l Ever­ing­ham achieved the ul­ti­mate goal in golf when he ea­gled the long­est par 3, 173 me­tre hole num­ber 17.

This achieve­ment was on Sun­day 17 June 2012, and the hole- in- one was missed from our re­port at the time.

The weather cleared to al­low com­pe­ti­tion play dur­ing last week, and an­other Moss­man mem­ber has achieved a hole-in-one. On Tues­day 18 Fe­bru­ary, Mau­rice Meth ea­gled the 8th hole - a chal­leng­ing 123 me­tre par 3 pro­tected on both sides by bunkers.

The Fe­bru­ary Monthly Medal spon­sored by The Pavil­ions Port Dou­glas, was won by Jimmy Ser­ave with nett 71 on a count­back to Mau­rice Meth and in 3rd place Peter Clark 72.

NTPs: I an Pre­witt, Mau­rice Meth (ace), Peter Niel­son, Bernie Boon and Mal McKel­lar.

Wed­nes­day’s 9- hole sporters event was won by Ron Smith with 18 points.

Thurs­day’s Ladies Par event was won by Pris Free­man with - 1 ahead of Leonie Phillips - 2 and Vir­ginia Goodall - 3 on a count­back.

NTPs: Patti Gra­ham on 6 and 10, Vir­ginia Goodall on 8, and Julie Hooker on 13.

On Fri­day Brendan Wood won the 9-hole event with 19 points.

The weekend events for 22 and 23 Fe­bru­ary were can­celled due to wet.

Satur­day’s 15th Fe­bru­ary Stable­ford event was won by Wade Dun­can with 37pts on a count­back.

NTPs: Norm Lock­wood, Des Gra­ham and Den­nis Blake.

The Ladies event was won by Leonie Phillips with 37 points ahead of Tri­cia Landy 34 and Tracey Be­nahm 33.

NTPs: Tri­cia Landy, Bev Cowe and Leonie Phillips.

On Sun­day 16 Fe­bru­ary, the Stable­ford Med­ley was won by Steve Gray with 32 points on a count-back to John Zieglar. John Zieglar won the NTP.
