Cham­ber looks to busi­ness fo­rum

DOU­GLAS Cham­ber of Com­merce pres­i­dent Phoebe Kitto stood down at the an­nual meet­ing last Thurs­day but will con­tinue on as a com­mit­tee mem­ber.

Cham­ber stal­wart Martin Tran­ter also de­clared he had de­cided to step down from the com­mit­tee.

Those ap­pointed to the new com­mit­tee are Wade Greasley, Gerry Ire­land, Phoebe Kitto, Kym Row­ley, Adam Barell and Liz Ross.

He­len de Ross flagged the Shop Lo­cal cam­paign which will be run later this month, in­clud­ing a VIP Shop­ping Night on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 19, which has al­ready signed up more than 30 shops as par­tic­i­pants.

Mayor Ju­lia and coun­cil­lors Noli, Melchert and Carey at­tended. Ms Leu made spe­cial men­tion of the up­com­ing busi­ness fo­rum and said the coun­cil was keen to work closely with busi­ness.
