Qan­tas has an­nounced it will op­er­ate ad­di­tional flights to Cairns from both Syd­ney and Bris­bane, in re­sponse to in­creased de­mand dur­ing the 2016 Chi­nese New Year pe­riod. From 06-14 Feb nine ad­di­tional B737-800 ser­vices will op­er­ate, pro­vid­ing an ad­di­tional 3,000 seats for tourists to Cairns. TTNQ have also re­ported that char­tered flights have al­most dou­bled in num­bers from this year! This is great news for the re­gion and if we can all work to­gether to cre­ate a warm wel­come for Chi­nese vis­i­tors, our re­gion will con­tinue to build this im­por­tant mar­ket who travel dur­ing our qui­eter months.
