Under 12s show class to Bad Boys

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - CLASSIFIEDS CLASSIFIEDS -

THE Douglas Muddies U12s travelled to Mareeba on Saturday for their first away game of the season against the Mareeba Bad Boys and came away with a comprehensive victory.

The locals won the toss and invited the Muddies to field first and even the coach was impressed by the fields set by Captain Abel, which combined with enthusiastic and sharp fielding restricted the Mareeba team to only 34 off the bat.

Like last week Ryan took honours with 0 for 0 off 2 overs including a runout assist from Gus, who also took a tough catch of Abel’s bowling in his first full game for the Muddies.

Unfortunately loose bowling helped the home team with 52 sundries giving Coach Damo plenty of ammunition for the next training session.

Daniel T and Darcy opened the batting and both retired.

Daniel N again got the batting honours with 22 from 19 balls and Bailey chipped in with a quick 18 from 12 balls to put the match beyond doubt.

The sportsmanship by both teams was very admirable.

The final scores were Mareeba Bad Boys 86, Douglas Muddies 130.
