Muddies B gear­ing up for Toads clash

WITH the game up for grabs af­ter the As­tute Fi­nan­cial Muddies B team were rolled for 91 and hav­ing Bar­ron overnight 3/34, the Muddies got off to a great start.

With both cap­tain Potato Gem and Benny V open­ing the bowl­ing on day 2, it wasn’t long be­fore the Muddies picked up their first then the sec­ond third, fourth, fifth and so on, both Benny and Luco were bowl­ing above them­selves try­ing to get the vic­tory for the Muddies and at one stage both were on hat-tricks, With the score locked at 9/89 it was still any­one’s game and in the end it was Bar­ron who came out with first in­nings points.

Best of the bowlers was Adam Lu­cas 4/41 of 18, Ben Vikionko­rpi 3/14 of 12 with Deep 1/21 and D Red­fern 1/7.

With the skip­per de­cid­ing to chase some quick runs the Muddies set out do­ing so with Ran­dal and Benny V open­ing the bat­ting and putting on a 78-run part­ner­ship be­fore Ben fell for 39.

Ran­dal con­tin­ued on his way with beau­ti­ful shot se­lec­tion and was find­ing gaps all over the place un­til he popped one up back to the bowler and was dis­missed for 47. His in­nings in­cluded 7 bound­aries.

Even­tu­ally the Muddies de­clared 2/118, with the in-form Nathan King 20 n/o and Dan Harris 5 n/o.

With a lead of 102 Deep and Kay­den opened the bowl­ing. with with some tight lines and were re­warded with two wick­ets each, Deep bowl­ing 7 overs pick­ing up 2/22 and Kay­den 5 overs 2/15.

Dan (“I’m not bowl­ing again”) Harris was re­placed pretty quickly by the bet­ter Dan Dan Red­fern who fin­ished the day with 2/6 of 2 and the wrongun’ work­ing a treat,

At the end of the day Bar­ron were 6/62.

With the next month at home the As­tute Fi­nan­cial Muddies will be look­ing for vic­tory, first against the Mul­grave Toads this Sun­day on what will be an­other top of the ta­ble clash.
