Lots of people helped Jemma go to games
Jemma Morrison from Julatten left on Tuesday for a training camp in Brisbane then straight onto the Pacific Games in Adelaide which showcases the best sportspeople from Australia and overseas.
Jemma has been playing her beloved soccer from age 5 and has now progressed to be selected to play to represent Queensland, the only girl from the Cairns region, and further south and north. The trials in Brendale, Brisbane, consisted of 12 teams from Queensland. Jemma was selected out of 184 girls for a squad of 15 to represent Qld.
Jemma has made the Julatten community proud and they have bonded together to show their support and therefore have achieved some fantastic fundraising events to give Jemma money to participate in this important event in her life. Our heartfelt thanks goes to the Nine Mile Store in Julatten for fundraising $300, and the Bushy Creek Riders Club for raising $200.
