Lots of peo­ple helped Jemma go to games

Jemma Mor­ri­son from Ju­lat­ten left on Tues­day for a train­ing camp in Brisbane then straight onto the Pa­cific Games in Ade­laide which show­cases the best sports­peo­ple from Aus­tralia and over­seas.

Jemma has been play­ing her beloved soc­cer from age 5 and has now pro­gressed to be se­lected to play to rep­re­sent Queens­land, the only girl from the Cairns re­gion, and fur­ther south and north. The tri­als in Bren­dale, Brisbane, con­sisted of 12 teams from Queens­land. Jemma was se­lected out of 184 girls for a squad of 15 to rep­re­sent Qld.

Jemma has made the Ju­lat­ten com­mu­nity proud and they have bonded to­gether to show their sup­port and there­fore have achieved some fan­tas­tic fundrais­ing events to give Jemma money to par­tic­i­pate in this im­por­tant event in her life. Our heart­felt thanks goes to the Nine Mile Store in Ju­lat­ten for fundrais­ing $300, and the Bushy Creek Riders Club for rais­ing $200.

Ju­lat­ten State School raised $500. and also the Ju­lat­ten state school P&C raised $400, along with the Ju­lat­ten stu­dent coun­cil’s $216. Go you guys!!!

We also wish to thank High­lander Tav­ern for the $100 board and the won­der­ful Mol­loy Pub for their $100 board. We did a trivia night at the High­lander Tav­ern and Andy from Bel Cibo restau­rant in Port Dou­glas do­nated a lunch for two voucher, Salsa $100, Tin Shed $100 voucher, Raw and More $100 voucher, Moss­man Ag Ser­vices $50 voucher, Taste on Macrossan $30 voucher.

Jemma has re­ceived some fab­u­lous sup­port and we are happy we are from this great and car­ing com­mu­nity! Go Jemma,we are so proud of you. Keep you posted back on the 28th of Novem­ber.
