Un­der 12 team serves it up to Ather­ton

THE Un­der 12s Mud­dies took ad­van­tage of a light­ning fast field at Tolga to de­feat Ather­ton.

Ather­ton won the toss and sent the Mud­dies in to bat. Open­ers Fred­die and Lachie each hit a four be­fore be­ing dis­missed.

This saw Brid­gett and Danny Nash come to the crease in a great steading part­ner­ship pro­duc­ing a 30 runs be­fore both re­tired Danny Twoomey played a good sup­port­ing role, fall­ing just short of re­tire­ment.

Able Terry (36) and Gus Gas­bage (30) were hit­ting the Ather­ton at­tack to all parts of the ground, both achiev­ing their high­est scores and leav­ing the ju­nior Mud­dies with a very re­spect­ful 6/193.

The days cap­tain Darcy McMa­hon opened the bowl­ing with tight lines and was un­lucky not to snare a wicket.

Ryan took a key wicket which pulled the Mud­dies to­gether.

Some great pres­sure field­ing re­sulted in wick­ets to Lachie Dowl­ing (1/16) and Gus(1/8).

It was all over when Able (3/5) took his third wicket. It lt ended up with Ather­ton all out for 118, a to­tal 75 runs short of the tar­get set by the Mud­dies.
