Under 12 team serves it up to Atherton
THE Under 12s Muddies took advantage of a lightning fast field at Tolga to defeat Atherton.
Atherton won the toss and sent the Muddies in to bat. Openers Freddie and Lachie each hit a four before being dismissed.
This saw Bridgett and Danny Nash come to the crease in a great steading partnership producing a 30 runs before both retired Danny Twoomey played a good supporting role, falling just short of retirement.
Able Terry (36) and Gus Gasbage (30) were hitting the Atherton attack to all parts of the ground, both achieving their highest scores and leaving the junior Muddies with a very respectful 6/193.
The days captain Darcy McMahon opened the bowling with tight lines and was unlucky not to snare a wicket.
Ryan took a key wicket which pulled the Muddies together.
Some great pressure fielding resulted in wickets to Lachie Dowling (1/16) and Gus(1/8).
It was all over when Able (3/5) took his third wicket. It lt ended up with Atherton all out for 118, a total 75 runs short of the target set by the Muddies.
