Two chil­dren were stung by marine stingers in sep­a­rate in­ci­dents along Cairns’ north­ern beaches on Sun­day. A 12-year-old boy was stung by an irukandji jel­ly­fish while swim­ming at Palm Cove at about 2.30pm. A 15-yearold girl was stung by a sus­pected irukandji jel­ly­fish while swim­ming at Yorkeys Knob just be­fore 4pm. Both were trans­ported to Cairns Hos­pi­tal.
