Malcolm in the middle
DAINTREE State School students got up close and personal with the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during an afternoon tea on Sunday evening at St Augustine’s College, Cairns.
School captains Tori Baird and Cassie Davenport were chosen to meet the Prime Minister during his first journey to the region as the leader of the country.
Both of the girls said they felt lucky to be given the opportunity of getting a ‘selfie’ with the Prime Minister.
Mr Turnbull, on a whirlwind tour of North Queensland, happily posed with dozens of locals after addressing the crowd for 20 minutes.
His speech focused on innovation and the benefits of the growing Asian market for members of the business community.
