CAMPAIGN ROLL-OUT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY
Next month Tourism Port Douglas & Daintree will be rolling out a number of domestic campaigns to boost visitation in April and May. For the first time we are partnering with TripAdvisor to raise awareness of the destination, and we are working with Quickbeds on a multi-level campaign to build consumer awareness and drive sales for our shoulder months. Our innovative Show Me Your Paradise campaign is currently live and we have received some stunning submissions in the photo and video categories. If you have an interest in photography and love Douglas like we do, please get involved and enter. We are hosting a number of educationals this week welcoming people from Italy, India and Australia’s southern states. The region also hosted two television crews last weekend on some exciting projects that will go live later in the year. We have a fantastic line-up of media joining the annual Carnivale media famil in March to help create content and buzz in the lead-up to the event. This year’s famil theme ‘Party on the reef’ will highlight the many delights of our coastal setting. In the lead-up to our local council elections TPDD has presented a set of questions to the candidates to better understand their position regarding tourism in Douglas. The answers will be available in the weeks leading up to the election. To date we have secured journalists from Gourmet Traveller, The CourierMail, Gold Coast Eye, News Corp Escape liftout, The Cairns Post and Foxtel Lifestyle Channel website. This is set to be a sensational famil creating lots of exciting content in the lead-up to this year’s Port Douglas Carnivale.
