Day of Prayer for women of Cuba
CHRISTIANS around the Shire will gather to learn about, pray for, and celebrate Cuba in solidarity with the women of Cuba for this years’ World Day of Prayer.
Churchgoers will wear white origami flowers to signify the white butterfly jas- mine, the national flower of Cuba.
People from all backgrounds are invited to attend local services as part of the world-wide service.
There will be fun performances by local children at both churches, St Augustine’s Catholic Church Mossman and St Mary’s Catholic Church Port Douglas. This year’s theme “Receive children. Receive me” aims to spread a message of hope to gatherings all around the world.
Services will be conducted at 9.30am at St Augustine’s Catholc Church Mossman and 6.30pm at St Mary’s Catholic Church Port Douglas.
