Resumes made easy at Youth Centre
CHILDREN at the Mossman Youth Centre are now able to write and print resumes thanks to the staff at the Queensland Government Agent Program (QGAP).
Youth development co-ordinator at the centre Besarah Harris said the children had begun to take pride in their work and felt a sense of ownership.
“It’s been great. We’ve been getting online and doing job searches, typing up resumes and doing tax file numbers,” she said.
“It’s all one-on-one with the kids so they feel safe to ask questions and learn.”
The funding came from QGAP, which is a government service that provides support to the local community by offering advice concerning transport, housing and other government related systems.
QGAP staff can be found at the front desk of the Mossman Magistrates Court.
