DO YOU SUPPORT THE ROLE OF TOURISM PORT DOUGLAS DAINTREE AS AN INDEPENDENT BODY WORKING WITH INDUSTRY AND COUNCIL TO UNDERTAKE DESTINATION TOURISM MARKETING OF THE DOUGLAS SHIRE?

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

Yes. The role of promotional and marketing activities and engagement with members, stakeholders and partners, including Council is best done by an independent body. I support the current priorities of destination marketing and promotion, building e-marketing and social media capabilities, maximising collaborative opportunities, providing market intelligence on new existing markets, trade and industry representation, membership engagement and working closely with Council.

Yes. I believe it is an integral pillar in the co-ordinated approach I would like to see implemented for the Shire. As I commented before I’ve always taken the view TPDD punches above its weight but we have to be sure we are giving the organisation our full support to enable you to fulfill your role as affectively as you can. By creating more assistance for TPDD through the Council and its advisory boards, I know we can achieve even higher quality results.
