Recently I was charged $2366 for a water leak 1m underneath my driveway (clearly something I couldn’t see) because the Concealed Water Leak Policy had been removed when we de-amalgamated. This was raised by T. Melchert and B. Clarke in a council meeting on July 14 to reinstate this policy, but the motion was defeated. I have no idea why Council would want to do this, it’s very unfair to the local people who work so hard to make ends meet and not to mention how hard this would be for our pensioners! This has not only happened to me but I also know this has happened to a lot of others as well and will continue to happen if we don’t make a stand. The new candidates, M. Kerr, V. Ruffles, D. Graham and R. Weavers have all had a positive thought on this and agree with me as do T. Melchert and B.Clarke. I think this is something that all locals/ratepayers should know before they place their vote!
