CWA branch thanks council for tree pruning

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

On behalf of the members of the Port Douglas Branch of the QCWA I wish to thank the Douglas Shire Council for providing an “in kind donation” to enable the pruning of the large trees beside our building.

This action has insured that the health and safety issue for visitors and members no longer exists. We were very happy that this was all done with speed and expertise from the staff involved.

A special thank you to Councillor Abigail Noli for assisting us in facilitating this activity with the Douglas Council CEO Linda Cardew.

We will now be able to have our roof cleaning maintained with out fear of branches dropping on the workers or damaging our roof.

Again many thanks for this assistance to the QCWA Port Douglas Branch, an active community group.
