Paramedics pedal into Port Douglas on a mission
YESTERDAY Kirk Binnington and four fellow Queensland Ambulance Service officers pedalled their way from Cairns to Port Douglas on the opening day of a “Tour of the Tropics”.
The 570km charity ride is raising money for QAS Legacy — an organisation supporting families who have suffered the loss of an ambulance worker.
The riders, who also include Mission Beach paramedic Adrian House, will wind their way up the Rex Range to the Tablelands today and complete a circuit back to Cairns next Tuesday. Mr Binnington said he hoped it would become an annual event.
