Leu’s ire

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

FROM PAGE 1 representations by the Gazette, Minister for Road Safety Mark Bailey rejected requests for traffic supervisors for Port Douglas State School, yet boasted at the end of the letter that the state government had set aside funding for an additional 75 supervisors!

On Port FM radio this week Ms Leu referred to longstanding frustration between the shire and the Department of Transport and Main Roads, which she also expressed to Ms Trad.

“I outlined to her the difficulties we have been facing with getting the DTMR to listen to us about the Port Douglas crossing.

“We seem to be always having problems with the DTMR and their communication with us – for instance the melaleucas by the road at Mowbray that were cut down last year.”
