St Augustine’s fetes the honoured ladies
St Augustine’s School in Mossman had an early Mother’s Day celebration last Friday when the school hosted a High Tea for mothers and grandmothers.
More than 40 ladies were provided the opportunity for a wonderful morning of conversation, music and laughter.
Year 6 Leaders developed their hosting skills by ensuring that treats and beverages were readily available for the guests.
Amid the cupcakes, lamingtons and monte carlos the tea and coffee flowed freely.
With the High Tea served high on the school’s performance stage each mother and grandmother was able to view the children present a whole school assembly.
The highlight being a whole school blessing for each lady, giving thanks for the love and nurture that each gives for their children.
School principal Paul Rayner stated that “having the school community give thanks for our mums is important. Mornings such as these presents a learning opportunity for our children to witness the respect and honour we have for the significant women in our lives”.
