St Au­gus­tine’s fetes the hon­oured ladies

St Au­gus­tine’s School in Moss­man had an early Mother’s Day cel­e­bra­tion last Fri­day when the school hosted a High Tea for mothers and grand­moth­ers.

More than 40 ladies were provided the op­por­tu­nity for a won­der­ful morn­ing of con­ver­sa­tion, mu­sic and laugh­ter.

Year 6 Lead­ers de­vel­oped their host­ing skills by en­sur­ing that treats and bev­er­ages were read­ily avail­able for the guests.

Amid the cup­cakes, lam­ing­tons and monte car­los the tea and cof­fee flowed freely.

With the High Tea served high on the school’s per­for­mance stage each mother and grand­mother was able to view the chil­dren present a whole school assem­bly.

The high­light be­ing a whole school bless­ing for each lady, giv­ing thanks for the love and nur­ture that each gives for their chil­dren.

School prin­ci­pal Paul Rayner stated that “hav­ing the school com­mu­nity give thanks for our mums is im­por­tant. Morn­ings such as these presents a learn­ing op­por­tu­nity for our chil­dren to wit­ness the re­spect and hon­our we have for the sig­nif­i­cant women in our lives”.
