ECOweek will unite community events across the north to showcase the common goal of environmental stewardship, community prosperity and economic resilience. The E-C-O in ECOweek stands for “Green Economy”, “Community celebration”, and “One planet”. ECO Week 2016 will be an opportunity to celebrate our unique natural heritage and showcase our environmental stewardship as well as inform and engage the community about the environmental issues facing our region. Are you in the Douglas Shire? Do you belong to an environmental group seeking to raise awareness and participation? Are you involved with a business which wants to promote its ecocredibility? Are you an individual who feels passionately about the environment? Council is inviting you to participate in ECO Week by hosting your own environmental/community sustainability/green economy event between 28 May and 5 June.
