Crocs Reserves unplug the Power

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - SPORT -

WITH the seniors having the bye due to Carnivale the seconds had no such luxury and had the long trip to South Cairns to take on the newly formed Pyramid Power.

With the weather resembling a summer monsoon without the heat it was always going to be a tough slog in the heavy conditions and the boys jumped out of the blocks early with a three-goal lead.

Nathan Evans was giving the Dickson boy first use of the ball who centre cleared the ball to inside 50 along with Heath MacInnes, Oscar Dodge and Brayden Mayne.

The halftime lead was five goals. Toby Petrack was a dominant focal point forward with Sam Evans and it was welcoming back to Mitch Bohm for his first game. The lead stretched to nine goals at the final break.

Camron Howlett was fanclubs tastic on a wing with Kayne Freyling in the centre and the backline led by Ethan McCullough who kept the opposition to three goals.

Toby finished with five goals, with Mitch Bohm and Sam Evans three apiece.

A nice 12-goal win in those conditions.

Next week sees the club at home to Manunda with the opening of the new electronic scoreboard form 1pm.
