Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - Scott Tibballs

LONGSTANDING members of the Mossman Branch of the Australian Red Cross were presented with awards commemorating decades of serving at the annual general meeting last week.

The five members (pictured) clocked in a combined 210 years service between them.

Guest speaker Winfred Smith, who is a board member of the Queensland Division of Red Cross, commended the Mossman Branch for their work. “Thankyou for your wonderful contribution. Reading about what you have done as a small branch has been amazing.”

Treasurer Evelyn Matthews reported that fund raising efforts had been fruitful in the past year, with the community continuing to support the efforts of the small branch to raise money for worthy causes.

Operations manager for North Queensland Luke Wenitong remarked that “in this economic climate, I think you guys have done a fantastic job with limited resources.”
