Kid-porn case ad­journed

PORT Dou­glas man Alexan­der Schultz, who is charged with a string of child-pornog­ra­phy of­fences, has had his case ad­journed a fur­ther six weeks un­til Septem­ber 28.

Schultz did not ap­pear before the Moss­man Mag­is­trates Court yes­ter­day, and his de­fence re­quested the ad­journ­ment via tele­con­fer­ence.

Schultz was al­legedly in pos­ses­sion of more than 8400 im­ages and videos when de­tec­tives raided a Port Dou­glas home in June, where he was taken into cus­tody.

Among drug charges, Schultz faced charges of pos­ses­sion of ob­ser­va­tions or record­ings in breach of pri­vacy and pos­sess­ing child ex­ploita­tion ma­te­rial.

Schultz re­mains re­manded in cus­tody.
