Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

ONCE more the drums are beating with tales tall and true of life in the balmy tropics . . . Speaking of names, Coconut knows he speaks for the whole shire when he says how proud he is of that fine horse flesh that is the namesake of our two great towns, Port Douglas and Mossman. The former is a nag running around in the UK and occasionally does alright for itself. You good thing. In Australia we have a fine horse called Mossman. He was born in 1995 and won a million bucks from 22 starts. In other words the owners are just about breaking even on the hay. These days he is “at stud” as it were and is the sire of, among others, Miss Mossman, which up till now Coconut had assumed was a beauty pageant or similar back in the day in the real Mossman. It’s really confusing.
