Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - REAL ESTATE -

apartment took the bug from us (and later refused to get it tested.. . Not to worry we had another one).

Not only that, but they pre-warned alternative accommodation options that we may have been exposed to bedbugs, even though they refused to believe their property had the dreaded critters.

All I know is that no more bites occurred once I’d left that property and I went from being extremely sick to making a rapid recovery with no more bites immediately.

Just like the rest of the world, because of global tourism, it wouldn’t be the first

time bedbugs have been found in Port Douglas even in the cleanest of properties.

Annoyingly stubborn, there is nevertheless a protocol to eradicating them relatively easily as long as it is taken seriously.

Pretending they don’t exist in Port Douglas is not the answer and help in finding alternative accommodation options is the minimum one would

expect rather than being made to feel like social pariahs for the rest of our stay!

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and helpers on the day for our /Annual St. Augustine’s Golf Day Fundraiser on Sunday 7 th August.

It was a huge success and our most successful one yet.

This would not have been possible without the local support we received from all our sponsors.

Also, a big thank you to the Mossman Golf Club for hosting the event.

Everyone had a lot of fun and laughs and most importantly the funds raised go towards much needed equipment for our school.
