Dead Daintree croc not shot

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

THE death of a crocodile on the Daintree River remains a mystery, however Environment and Heritage Protection officers have ruled out foul play.

There was speculation on social media the animal, whose body was found on Sunday, had been shot, however a Department spokeswoman confirmed this was not the case.

What killed the crocodile is unlikely to ever be known for sure, with the spokeswoman saying it was “not possible to determine the cause of death due to the condition of the carcass”.
