WORLD CASSOWARY DAY
This year’s WORLD CASSOWARY DAY will be held at the Daintree Rainforest Observatory (DRO) on Saturday September 24th, 2016. The community event will run from 10am-2pm and include talks by cassowary experts, conservation and market stalls, live music, food, kids activities (face painting, story time, scavenger hunt etc.), a film screening and much more. Falling in the middle of school holidays this is a great chance to pack up the family or escape the crowds for a great day of learning and celebrating all things cassowary! It brings together operators, representatives, Ministers and state and local government officials to debate the key issues facing the industry and define agreed priorities for supporting Queensland’s tourism industry to Invest. Excel. Grow. Last year Tropical North Queensland was one of the least represented regions from around the state. Destination Q is an informative, thought provoking forum that tackles a broad range of issues being faced by the tourism industry.
