Wade and Couper shine in US tournaments

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - OPINION -

RECENTLY Wade Duncan (16) and Couper Smith (10) travelled with an Australian contingent of 21 junior golfers and their family members to the United States of America, representing Australia at the World Stars of Junior Golf Championships at Las Vegas and the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Golf Tournament in Temecula California.

The Mossman Golf Juniors performed admirably with Wade Duncan attaining a top 25 finish at the Las Vegas Tournament and Couper Smith securing a bronze medal at the Junior Olympic Event in California.

Wade and Couper, along with their parents, would like to express sincere heart felt gratitude to the Mossman and Port Douglas communities, whose incredible, overwhelming support transformed this sporting opportunity into a reality, and further cemented aspirations within both boys to take their golf to another level.

Couper has since won the two-day men’s FNQ Mossman Golf Hatfield Classic..

This is the second year in a row he has won the overall event.

He has also made it through to the last four of the Mossman C Grade Men’s Match Play tournament.
