C Grade Sharkies bounced by the Roos

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - SPORT -

ON Friday night the Mossman Port Douglas Sharks C grade played Kangroos at Smithfield in a grand-final qualifier.

They were defeated 20-16 in a close contest which they could have won.

Because of forfeits and byes the boys have only played one game in four weeks and it showed on the night as it took them until the second half to start playing good football.

Handling errors in the first half saw the Sharks go into the break down 20-4 but the second stanza was a different affair with the Sharks keeping Roos scoreless to come within four points and almost snatching the victory.

They will be much better for the run and are confident that on Sunday they will eliminate Suburbs and earn their place in the grand final.

The game is at 10am, Sunday, at Barlow Park, Cairns, so come along and support the mighty Mossman Sharks.
