CHAMBER CHIEF SPEAKS OUT
DOUGLAS Chamber of Commerce president Helen De Ross is parting ways with the chamber, as well as Port Douglas. “I’m very sad to go,” she said.
Helen will be moving back to her home state of Victoria, where she has taken on a new role with Bendigo Bank on the Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne.
“This role came up, and the opportunity was there so I jumped on it.”
Helen has spent two and a half years in Port Douglas, and will be leaving behind a strong chamber of commerce that she dedicated dozens of hours of work to every week.
She will be stepping down from her role at the chamber tomorrow.
A new committee for the chamber will be elected at the Annual General Meeting on November 15, and Helens replacement as president will be elected from the new committee in December.
