FIRIES FIRE UP FOR PINK IN THE TROP­ICS

Mem­bers of the not-for-profit char­ity Pink in the Trop­ics are en­cour­ag­ing women who have breast cancer to ap­proach them for as­sis­tance if they need it. Sec­re­tary An­drea Gard ex­plained that women of Pink in the Trop­ics are there to sup­port women with breast cancer by help­ing or­gan­ise clean­ing, gardening and shop­ping. “When peo­ple go through chemo it takes a lot out of you,” said Ms Gard. “We’re here to sup­port them in any way.” The lo­cal char­ity has sup­ported dozens of women over the years, and is made up of women who have had breast cancer. “Fam­ily can give you sym­pa­thy – women who have gone through it can give you em­pa­thy.” The Moss­man Fire and Res­cue team sup­port Pink in the Trop­ics by help­ing raise aware­ness for the char­ity.
