It’s been a good fort­night for the KIND char­ity, which helps lo­cal kids in need. The Mel­bournebased White­lion, which held its an­nual ride to Cape Tribu­la­tion re­cently, do­nated $10,000 to KIND – the first time it has given to the lo­cal char­ity. Its am­bas­sador, cy­cling leg­end Stu­art O’Grady, took lo­cal spon­sors on a spe­cial ride on the Sun­day af­ter the Cape Trib event the day be­fore. Then the Melbourne Cup cel­e­bra­tions at the Sher­a­ton Mi­rage Port Dou­glas also was a ma­jor suc­cess for KIND, with the or­gan­i­sa­tion re­ceiv­ing an­other $13,000. “It’s been an awe­some time for us,” said Na­dine Jones, KIND’s deputy pres­i­dent.
