Tourism Port Dou­glas Dain­tree are look­ing for vol­un­teers to greet cruise ship pas­sen­gers as they ar­rive at the Reef Ma­rina Port Dou­glas. We are look­ing for pas­sion­ate lo­cals to share their love for our beau­ti­ful re­gion and be­come a part of cruise ship pas­sen­gers’ Port Dou­glas ex­pe­ri­ence by wel­com­ing them with a smile and your in­sider’s knowl­edge into what they can do in their short time in Port Dou­glas. Vol­un­teers would be re­quired to as­sist for ap­prox­i­mately 1.5 hours on a cruise ship day. We have four vol­un­teers present for each visit and have a ros­ter in place so ev­ery­one can share the load. Vol­un­teers are pro­vided with in­for­ma­tion, maps and vis­i­tor guides. Cur­rently Gen­eral Manger of Moss­man Gorge Cen­tre in Far North Queens­land, one of the most suc­cess­ful and awarded Cul­tural based tourism and train­ing cen­tres in Aus­tralia wel­com­ing over 300,000 visi­tors an­nu­ally through its doors and main­tain­ing a 90% In­dige­nous work­force and a ded­i­cated train­ing acad­emy and on­site hos­tel wel­com­ing stu­dents from re­mote re­gions of North QLD and Thurs­day Is­land. Ben was re­cently awarded the Young Achiever for 2016 at the Trop­i­cal North Queens­land awards in Cairns.
