The Meteors do well in Mareeba
FOR a small but growing club, the mighty Meteors sure have their goals set high and are achieving them one-by-one, competition-by-competition, in the pool. The action packed one-day Mareeba Spring Carnival held on Saturday 5th November, saw the Meteors team of 12 swimmers (from the Mossman contingent) earn an impressive 19 Personal Best times, 5 x 1st placings, 5 x 2nd placings, 6 x 3rd placings and 4 x 4th placings between them.
With swimmers ranging in age from 5yrs old to 15yrs old, we have some talented local kids in the pool this swim season.
In his pool competition swimming debut, Mitchell Knight (15yrs) blitzed the pool in his four events earning not only a 1st place in the 50m Free, 2nd place in both the 100m Free and 200m Free, and then a 3rd place in the 400m Free, but also swam his way into the FNQ Development Squad with his impressive times!

With such an awesome list of achievements from a small group of swimmers, it’s any wonder that Meteors membership numbers are growing by the week as word of their awesome coaches spreads around the shire!
The next swim comp for the season will be the Saints Long Course Qualifier held at the Tobruk Pool 19/20th November.
