Bill Allison’s ea­gle on par 3 helped with the bar tak­ings at Moss­man

MOSS­MAN Golf Club’s high­light of the week was a hole-in­one by Bill Allison, his first “ea­gle” on a par 3, and this re­sulted in in­creased bar tak­ings on Tues­day, Novem­ber 8.

Play­ing part­ners Matty Smith and Robert “Plug” Young hit off the tee on the 123m hole 8, and a com­ment was made that the NTP marker was fairly close to the hole.

Bill hit his shot sweetly, and they all watched the ball land on the left side of the green and gen­tly roll 4 or 5 me­tres into the hole.

The Tues­day Novem­ber Monthly Medal spon­sored by Mal and Leonie Phillips, was won by Tano Caltabi­ano with nett 70 on a count-back to Paul McMa­hon and in 3rd place Bruce Cheesman 71 .

Wed­nes­day’s nine hole stable­ford event was won in great style by Couper Smith with 33 points ahead of Peter Ti­tus-Rees 24.

The Ladies Thurs­day event was won by Kerri-Lynn Wil­liams with 38 points ahead of Tri­cia Landy 36 on a count­back to Shona Bar­bour.

NTP’s – Glenda Chris­tensen, Bette Wells, Jo Con­stan­tine and Kerri-Lynn Wil­liams.

The very pop­u­lar Fri­day nine hole Moss­man Butcher­ing Steak Bash was won by Greg Dunn with 20 points.

Sat­ur­day’s Stable­ford was won by Bruce Cheesman with 41 points on a count-back to Norm Lock­wood and in 3rd place Jock Con­stan­tine 39.NTP’s – Peter Clark, Ed Sant on 8 and 17, Alec Ford and Boof MacDon­ald. by

The Ladies event won by Shona Bar­bour with 33 points on a count-back to Julie Hooker. NTP’s – Tri­cia Batkin and Glenda Chris­tensen.

On Sun­day, the Moss­man B Grade Pen­nant team trav­elled to Tully Golf Club, but were nar­rowly de­feated by Ather­ton in the semi-fi­nals of the FNQGA Pen­nant.
