Community group and Bendigo hit $1m mark
ONE million dollars – that’s how much local charity Building Active Connected Communities (BaCC) has distributed in its six years.
It has helped around 200 organisations, including a great many in Douglas Shire.
BaCC works hand in hand with the Bendigo Bank – as groups such sporting clubs and other not-for-profits refer members and supporters to the bank, then the bank sends a proportion of the ongoing trailing commissions to BaCC, which distributes it back to the clubs.
In Port Douglas this week BaCC and Bendigo Bank proudly celebrated reaching the million dollar mark in the Cairns regions.
They passed substantial grants to the Port Douglas Tennis Club and Port Douglas State School, as well as a host of cheques in the regular income distribution to various clubs and organisations.
Seems like a win-win for everyone.
If you look after a club or other not-for-profit have a look at BaCC’s facebook page to see how you could also tap into this fundraising system. ONCE more the drums are beating with tales tall and true of life in the balmy tropics well before seven AM…. Come on microlight guys, go out to sea..
